Staff Accountant

Description:

A Staff Accountant with Gurney's Resort is responsible for performing General Books (General Ledger) functions. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Performs monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

  • Prepares journal entries and assists in month-end procedures

  • Process credit card refunds

  • Responsible for cash over/short tracking and notifications

  • Posts daily income journals to the General Ledger

  • Assists with monthly house bank audits

  • Assists with the inputting of the budget and forecasts into systems

  • Responds to telephone inquiries from guests and other departments

Job Requirements

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION

Four-year degree required, preferably Accounting or Finance. CPA/CMA/MBA desirable.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum two year Accounting experience required. Hotel accounting/finance experience highly preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.

GROOMING

All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
